CHUNKY APPLESAUCE

 Once you see how easy it is to make your own, and how much tastier the results,
you’ll never buy canned applesauce again.
Great in small containers for children’s lunches, as a healthy dessert,
or served as a side with grilled pork.

 

6 medium apples

½ cup water

½ tsp cinnamon (optional)

Peel and core the apples, and cut into 1” chunks. Place in a saucepan with the water and cinnamon. Cover with a lid, bring to a boil, and let simmer until the apples are tender, about 10 minutes. Stir. Will keep for several days in the refrigerator.
