KIKUSUI ASIAN PEARS

Also called 21st Century. Round fruit, sometimes knobby, kind of an ugly duckling. Delicious sweet-tart fruit, very juicy. Somewhat larger than 20th Century, skin is yellow on green, and shape not as regular. Excellent for all raw uses.

Season: Late September, October

Size: 12 to 32 per metric layer.

Suggested uses: Fresh eating, salads, cheese platters, grilled, roasted.

Shelf life: Will keep at 32 degrees for 1 month.
