MISSION FIGS

Buy Mission Figs: Please come see us at the Wednesday Santa Monica Farmers Market. Our stand is in front of Restaurant Lago, just below 3rd Street Promenade on Arizona avenue.

Description: Mission is a dark purple skinned, red fleshed variety, very sweet, rich flavor and jammy consistency, yet still balanced by a fruity note of acidity.

Season: Mid August to September.

Size: 1 lb clamshells.

Suggested uses: Fresh eating, grilled, roasted, baked on tarts, used on salads, cheese platters, sorbets, preserves.

Shelf life: 7 days in your cooler for raw use, up to 2 weeks if you are cooking them.
